This just helps temporarily... until Windows 10 forces the aforementioned patch to be installed within 24 hours.  If there is a reason to uninstall a patch, how exercise nosotros stop the patch from being automatically reinstalled?

Hi Glenn,

Thank you for responding.

I empathise the inconvenience caused to y'all with the Windows updates being installed on your device.

I would like to inform that, in addition to replacing updated drivers via the Device Managing director or uninstalling recent updates via the Control Console, Microsoft has also released a troubleshooter that allows you to hide updates and thus prevent Windows from reinstalling them until a revised version becomes bachelor.

Download the troubleshooter wushowhide.diagcab  from Microsoft; it'south a standalone application, no installation required.

  • From the initial screen, click Side by side.
  • The troubleshooter volition now detect bug and look for updates. On the post-obit screen, y'all can either choose to Hide updates or Show hidden updates.
  • Click Hide updates, select the offending update/due south, and click Side by side to resolve the issue.
  • To restore an update, select Show hidden updates from the respective screen, select the hidden update, and click Side by side.
  • The troubleshooter will do its magic and you should finally see a confirmation that problems were resolved.

Hope it helps. Try the above and update us the condition of this issue, we will be happy to help you further.

Thanks for offering this fix.  I'm trying to uninstall the update KB3211320, dates one/25/2017, which I believe is the Anniversary Update.  I see that update every bit the virtually recent one on the "Uninstall an update" page.  Nonetheless, correct-clicking on that one and a few others yields no event, although I get an uninstall option on the rest.

Is there a workaround for this, a way I can get at this update?  Information technology has disabled my computer.

Cheers, Allen.  That'southward exactly what I did - and what didn't work.  I found the workaround, however.  It involved changing it from permanent to removable in the Windows\servicing\packages folder, and then Control Panel - Sstem - Avant-garde - System Properties - Hardware Device Installation Settings - choose NO.

I was able to uninstall the update and keep it from reinstalling, but the trouble isn't fixed yet.
